On October 8th CCLR, in collaboration with the U.S. EPA Region 4, is holding a workshop session in Atlanta Georgia as part of the two day '2014 EPA Brownfields Grantee Workshop'.
On October 1st CCLR held an introductory course on brownfield redevelopment in Seattle, Washington as part of the two day 'Re-Using Contaminated land Conference' hosted by the NEBC. Over 25 attendees representing northwestern government agencies, developers, non-profits, and the greater community gained valuable insight into brownfield redevelopment issues.
Today, the White House announced a second launch of the 'Promise Zone' Competition. The initiative is part of a federal plan to create a "new pathway to the middle class by partnering with local communities and businesses to create jobs, increase economic security, improve educational opportunities, and reduce violent crime."

On September 10th CCLR held an introductory course on brownfield redevelopment in Memphis, Tennessee. Over 50 attendees representing Memphis government agencies, developers, non-profits, and greater community gained valuable insight into brownfield redevelopment issues. The panel of speakers included government officials, scientists, lawyers and city planning professionals. Speakers addressed the legal, scientific and financial aspects of brownfield redevelopment, and shared some incredible case studies of redevelopment projects in the State of Tennessee.
