Brownfields Reuse Planning for an Affordable Energy Future
Join the new two-part workshop series, organized by CCLR’s Technical Assistance to Brownfields team and the Rocky Mountain Institute’s Brightfields Accelerator
Part 1
Brightfields 101: Introduction to Reuse Planning for Renewable Energy on Brownfields
July 23, 12:00 p.m. PT
Part 2
How Brightfields Can Support Affordable Energy Planning
Aug 13, 10:00 a.m.
Communities across the country are increasingly looking to reactivate their brownfields and closed landfills with clean energy, turning them into “brightfields”. At the same time, communities are also grappling with rising energy costs and energy demand — impacting ratepayer affordability and longer-term budget planning. Deploying fixed-cost renewable energy projects on brownfields can support long-term budget planning and hedge against rising energy costs.
This webinar series will introduce communities to renewable energy as an option for brownfield reuse and break down the available incentives, market, and financial pathways to help communities and site owners plan for brightfields. Participants do not need a finance background for this workshop series. This series will include multiple interactive opportunities to engage and ask questions about specific projects, sites, or unique community challenges.
