Biography
Sebastian Harrison, P.E. is an environmental engineer, brownfields practitioner, and independent consultant who has supported CCLR since 2021. Based in Los Angeles, Sebastian brings more than a decade of experience in environmental remediation and sustainability, including managing complex remedial sites in Delaware, where he is a registered Professional Engineer.
At CCLR, Sebastian has played a key role in supporting California’s Equitable Community Revitalization Grant (ECRG) and Technical Assistance Grant (TAG) programs, as well as EPA’s Technical Assistance to Brownfields (TAB) programs in Regions 9 and 10. Through this work, he helps communities, nonprofits, Tribes, and local governments navigate the investigation, cleanup, funding, and reuse of contaminated properties. He is passionate about sustainable remediation, nature-based solutions, and innovative approaches to managing contamination and returning underutilized properties to productive community use. Sebastian has spoken on brownfields and remediation at events including Battelle, Tribal EPA forums, and the California Land Recycling Conference (CALRC).
Before supporting CCLR, Sebastian worked in the chemical industry as a remediation project manager, with experience spanning site cleanup, waste management, environmental policy, sustainability, and renewable energy. He holds a B.S. in Environmental Engineering from the University of Michigan. Outside of his environmental work, Sebastian is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt.
